Ecobat California is the only lead battery recycling facility in the Western United States, ensuring that over 10 million used car batteries from California and the Western US are safely recycled each year. The facility is proud to be the cleanest lead recycling plant in the world, which consistently meets or exceeds all applicable environmental standards and requirements. Ecobat California achieves these results by utilizing the best available control technology, including several sophisticated pollution control systems. Since 2008, Ecobat California has invested over $50 million to install and maintain new pollution control and monitoring devices.

We produce 120,000 tons of recycled lead each year and recycle more than 10 million batteries every year.

We are directly responsible for employing 250 full time local union workers.

We are meeting or exceeding all applicable environmental federal, state, and local standards through very robust control, mitigation, and monitoring systems. We have invested $50 million installing and maintaining new pollution control equipment and monitoring devices.
